AbGn-107

Disease Population

The number of new cases of stomach cancer was 7.2 per 100,000 men and women per year. The number of deaths was 3.2 per 100,000 men and women per year. These rates are age-adjusted and based on 2011-2015 cases and deaths.
Approximately 0.8 percent of men and women will be diagnosed with stomach cancer at some point during their lifetime, based on 2013-2015 data.
In 2015, there were an estimated 97,915 people living with stomach cancer in the United States[1]. AbGn-107 binds to approximately 40 percent of stomach tumors.

About Gastric Cancer
Gastric cancer (also called stomach cancer) is the fourth most common cause of cancer-related death in the world [2]. This type of cancer remains difficult to cure, primarily because it is difficult to diagnose and most patients are in advanced stages of the disease.

In most cases, stomach cancer begins from a cell that is on the inside lining of the stomach (the mucosa). This type of cancer is called adenocarcinoma. For the past several decades, rates of cancer in the main part of the stomach (stomach body) have been falling worldwide. However, incidences of gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma are increasing.
